Overview
Backlit digital display frames, fabricated for a storefront window at the NODE Foundation exhibition in Palo Alto, California. Three large display cases are mounted on an expanded-metal mesh wall, with integrated backlighting that pushes the digital artworks out to the street. The mesh backdrop and steel framing give the window an industrial, gallery-grade edge.
Fabrication Process
Steel angle and flat bar were cut and welded into display case frames sized to the displays. Expanded-metal mesh was fabricated into the backdrop wall and mounting structure. Backlighting and display power were integrated into the frame, with routing concealed behind the mesh.
