Suspended Code Panels

Fabrication Steel LCD Panels

Source code shown as art — on screens that had to hang clean against a raw mesh wall with no visible wiring. We built steel frames rigged to sit level and keep the cabling out of sight.

Overview

Suspended code display panels, fabricated for the NODE Foundation exhibition in Palo Alto, California. Custom steel frames present source code on screens hung against an expanded-metal mesh wall. The frames were built to precise tolerances so the panels hang level and read as a consistent set, with cable management kept out of sight.

Fabrication Process

Steel mounting frames were cut, welded, and finished, then rigged for hanging against the mesh backdrop. Power and data routing were integrated into the frame so the panels could read as a unified set without visible cabling.
